Development Photographs: Location

These photographs are the location section of my development. I took my model to loads of different locations, which have some graffiti. The photographs above are the unedited versions. I got my model to look away from the camera so it looks like she's not bothered the camera is there.

I have edited these 8 photographs. I have increased the contrast and decreased the brightmess slightly. I did this because it makes them look brighter and have a professional highly manicured finish. I like this because it makes the graffiti stand out a lot more against her black dress.

I think I'm going to use these photographs in my final piece.

Development Photographs: Studio

Studio:
These photographs are apart of my development section. I took my model into the studio and just experimented with different poses (with inspiration from my male model poses research).
I did this because I wanted to capture the 'perfect' side of my models with just a plain background and lighting.

Statement of Intent

My chosen theme is ‘Manicure’. My statement of intent is to get ‘perfect’ looking models and get them to pose in dirty, urban, run-down scenes, to contrast the ‘perfect’ looking models. I will take close ups of the models faces which are highly manicured with makeup, against a graffiti covered wall. I am going to use a girl and a boy as my models to show that it’s not just girls who want to look good. I am also going to use the studio to help me create a flawless image. My models will be highly manicured with makeup, again to create a perfect looking model.

Male photography pose ideas

I did a bit of research to give me ideas about how I should pose my male model. I found loads of different ideas and poses. This helped me to plan what my model is going to wear and pose like.

I really like the male models in these photographs because they are all wearing suits and this relates to my theme 'manicure'. I like the black and white contrast of these images as they make the model stand out against whatever background they have.

Development Photographs: Close ups

I took these photographs to experiment with close ups on the face, to make the makeup stand out against the backgrounds. These three photographs we're taken in different locations but they all have the same meaning and purpose. I got my model to look away from the camera to create an edgy and powerful feel. These photographs are unedited and are still part of my development work.

Initial Photographs

These photographs are my initial photographs, I wanted to have a 'perfect' model in an urban, run down scene. Creating the opposite to the model. I got a girl and boy to model for me to show that guys and girls can both be 'perfect' and that it's not just girls who want to look good.
